Brands We Love: A new series devoted to spotlighting game-changing brands in the fashion world—oftentimes posted and hyped up by none other than our own Snapette users! This week, all eyes are on Jeffrey Campbell Shoes. Though it can’t be denied how wildly popular the brand is, it’s definitely one of those “you either love it or you hate it” type deals. If you ask us, anything that elicits such a visceral reaction warrants a closer look!
Shoe designer Jeffrey Campbell founded his eponymous design label 11 years ago in Los Angeles, CA. The brand has skyrocketed in popularity over the past couple of years, but despite its success, still remains a relatively small company. Known for designs that constantly push the envelope, Jeffrey Campbell has solidified its status as a distinctive brand. Their shoes cater to diehard fashionistas who favor creative and eclectic styles. These women are endearingly referred to as “JC Girls.”
Okay, let’s talk about the shoes. The soaring Lita bootie is the shining star of the brand’s line. The boot is perched upon a concealed platform and blocky heel measuring 4.5 inches. You name the material, design, and/or accents—we guarantee it exists! Other smash hits include the Foxy Wood heel sandals, Benched cutout platform, and 99 Tie wedge. Nothing about these styles is subdued, and they’re certainly not for all palates, but there continues to be an overwhelming demand for them. They are the quintessential “statement shoe.”
So there are countless reasons to love Jeffrey Campbell, and it’s no wonder why they’ve come to be one of the biggest names in footwear. Behind the shoes, there’s a real tangible passion for design and a commitment to originality that we find admirable.Don’t forget to check out our gallery of Jeffrey Campbell photos here!Clockwise from top left: Foxy Wood Heel Sandal, 99 Tie Wedge, Lita Bootie, and Benched Cutout Platform.Images via Snapette

Shoe designer Jean-Michel Cazabat played host to a very successful “A Night of Spring Shopping” event last night at his flagship Bleecker Street store. And what a star-studded affair it was! Snapette Co-Founder Sarah Paiji was there to represent.
Fashion guru Stacy London of TLC’s reality makeover show What Not to Wear was on hand dispensing valuable style advice (we took notes!) and Monsier Cazabat looked dashing as always in his vibrant fuchsia blazer. The designer, Hisham Oumlil, is pictured as well.

Meet Soraya Bakhtiar, a London-based freelance writer and fashion blogger who is pursuing her Master’s in Fashion Journalism. With 400+ followers on Snapette, she’s cultivated a trendy selection of shoes and bags that express her own style and communicate her fashion-forward sense. We love Soraya for her colorful snaps!
I’m inspired by…  street style for the most part, as well as icons like Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot. Magazines are a great source of inspiration as well, and I love music and photography.
My style is…  like a chameleon; it changes from day to day. Some days I like to feel more edgy, and others I like to be more girly, but overall I would say chic and fun.
I love shoes and bags because…  they can completely update a look and give it a different vibe.
I think every woman should use Snapette…  for shopping inspiration, or simply to see items in the flesh and share them with friends.
My favorite brands are…  Isabel Marant, Proenza Schouler, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and IRO.
My go-to outfit for a fun night out is…  a little black lace dress paired with floral blazer, heeled biker boots, and flashy clutch!
I’m different because…  having lived in Europe all my life allowed me to have a very “European” vision about fashion, and my background is fairly unusual: Iranian and Egyptian.
If I were invited to the Oscars, I’d wear…  Elie Saab, Oscar de la Renta, or Chanel.
I aspire to be…  an editor for a fashion magazine.
If I could travel anywhere, I would go to…  Istanbul and Greece!

A Bag for Every Occasion! We know just how overwhelming it can be trying to decide which bag to bring to any given outing. Well, now you can breathe easy with a few quick tips to help alleviate your “bag brain freeze.”1. Don’t worry about overdressing! There’s no such thing as a bag being too fancy. If you’re worried about your bag standing out too much, think again! If your purse makes heads turn, then you’ve done your job well.2. Don’t overpack! There’s nothing worse than reaching for your wallet and coming up with a pair of socks. You’re not caring for an army; just stick to the essentials. You don’t need an oversized bag for a late dinner or a night at the movies—just grab a cross-body satchel and you’ll be fine. Bring your wallet, phone, and lip gloss. Leave the rest.3. When in doubt, match, match, match. If you’re seriously torn between bag choices, then break it down into simplest terms: color. If you’re wearing a bright red top, then leave the orange clutch at home and grab the black one instead. A girl’s greatest gift in life is that black matches nearly everything, so do not be afraid to fall back on that. Black isn’t boring, it’s classic!Images via Snapette
