Hey fashionistas! I’m Leslie, a fairly new Snapette intern, and I want to share with you what it’s like to work at Snapette. You can follow my profile on Snapette here.
About a year and a half ago I fell in love with fashion and beauty by becoming addicted ….I mean subscribed to the wonderful girls on Youtube who taught me all about makeup, style and design.
Because I was so comfortable with math and science, however, I decided to apply to engineering schools for college. In the meantime I fell more and more in love with fashion, and I realized that New York was the place to be to get exposure to the industry. So when I was accepted to an engineering school in The City, I couldn’t pass up the offer.
My first semester in college was a huge adjustment. Not only was it difficult to move away from home, but I also struggled managing the huge workload, which had little to nothing to do with creativity (for my pre-reqs) and design. I began to think of ways to satiate my interest in fashion.
Around the same time I discovered the Snapette app. After a little research, I decided it was a must-have. I uploaded my first picture, a pair of skull-studded Jeffrey Campell Litas, and received 10 likes within minutes. I felt applauded for being my (fashionable) self.
A fashion internship seemed like the best way for me to unwind because it would be an artistic outlet, a learning and growing experience, and exposure to the industry.
Browsing through my school’s job site, I found an internship at, you guessed it, Snapette! I was so excited at the prospect of working on an application that I was familiar with and, better yet, loved. I applied, went through two interviews, and was designated as a Marketing and Business Development intern.
Although I’ve only been working with Snapette for a few months, I have already had amazing experiences and learned so much more than many books or professors have ever taught me.
I’m excited to share more with you so stay tuned!
